The liquid democracy system is an innovative approach and concept that aims to strengthen the relationship between the government and its citizens. It is a model that can for example utilizes blockchain technology, which provides a secure and dependable tech infrastructure that promotes transparency and accountability. This system has the potential to be implemented and adopted globally as a means of combating corruption, which is one of the most significant challenges faced by democracies worldwide. The emphasis of this system is on promoting transparency between the government and its citizens, rather than just disseminating information. With this model, citizens have a more active role in the decision-making process, thereby ensuring that their voices are heard and that their concerns are addressed. Leveraging Quantum Computing for Good
Quantum computing has, like so many nascent but game-changing technologies, suffered from an abundance of hype, nearly all of which has yet to be realized. Further, the primary focus on this technology has been on the negative outcomes of its adoption, namely password decryption and future cyberattacks threatening businesses and the world’s security. While these challenges are real (and addressable), we see the vast opportunity that quantum has to offer in building a more sustainable, efficient, and livable planet.
XPRIZE is an established global leader in designing, launching, and executing large scale competitions to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. We work across seven domains, including Deep Tech + Quantum, to incentivize innovation and problem-solving. We see quantum computing as an essential ingredient technology in unlocking an equitable and abundant future for all and will delve into likely use cases and expected timelines of impact.

Clean Water, Clean Oceans
Our oceans hold nearly 97% of all the water on earth, providing a habitat for a rich array of life, generating over half of the oxygen we need to survive, and absorbing 25% of carbon dioxide emissions - making it the largest carbon sink in the world. However, our ocean ecosystem is facing a myriad of threats in the form of things such as microplastics, acidification due to rising temperatures and harmful agricultural practices, and a decline in overall biodiversity due to things such as overfishing. The root of many of these problems is poor management of our water, as well as an inability to monitor and measure the water - and other ocean assets - at scale. This panel’s aim will be to both present technological solutions to some of these issues and discuss how leveraging such solutions can lead to a healthier relationship with water and the oceans.

Elevator Workshop - New Consciousness Paradigm and Movement
The global consciousness movement encompasses the ever-growing popularity of yoga, meditation, Buddhism, indigenous spirituality, the new psychedelic renaissance, and cutting-edge thinkers exploring the connection between science and mysticism. While the consciousness movement is very diverse, it reveals a number of unifying factors. In general, its participants prioritize self-development, direct experience, compassion, connection with nature, embodiment, “inter-being,” and self-knowledge or gnosis.
The consciousness movement is still in its early stages. The Elevator will offer a supportive infrastructure for this movement, gathering information, promoting its core ideas, convening communities, exploring new initiatives, and critically evaluating its claims. By producing media and conferences, The Elevator will foster dialogues and address issues and conflicts within the movement. Research projects from our think tank will explore how the impulse toward deeper awareness and holistic meaning can catalyze positive global change.
